Nest Egg Scholarship Program

Junior Board of Rock Island will award a scholarship to a qualifying individual in the amount of $5,000 to be distributed over 2 years. Disbursements will be distributed in the amount of $1,250 per semester, for a total of $2,500 per year for two years. Prospective candidates must be in good academic standing to receive second disbursement. Applications will be reviewed and all recipients will be notified by June 1 of the applying year.

Qualifications

  • Applicant must be an expecting parent or parent wanting to further their education,
  • Woman or man,
  • Grade Level Requirement:  Must have ability to be accepted into an accredited college or trade school,
  • Residence Requirement:  Must be a resident of Rock Island County, IL,
  • Citizenship: None,
  • May not be an immediate relative of any member of Junior Board of Rock Island, past or present.

Requirements

  • 2 letters of recommendation from a non-family member,
  • Must be willing to speak at a JBRI meeting during period of scholarship,
  • All applications for fall enrollment must be received by April 24,, 2024.

General Information

  • All disbursements will be made directly to the institution upon receipt of bill,
  • Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition, books, or institutional fees.

As a requirement of this scholarship you will be required to attend a minimum of six 1 hour Nest sessions during your scholarship period as well as speak at a minimum of two Nest sessions during the same period.
