Mardi Gras

The theme and chairs for the 73rd Annual Mardi Gras have been announced by the Junior Board of Rock Island.  The event, chaired by Jennifer Knuth and Beth Ducey, will be held February 18, 2012 at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.  This year's theme will be “Monet’s Garden”.

Spend a beautiful evening in the Gardens of Giverny. The Junior Board of Rock Island presents our Mardi Gras 2012 -"Monet's Garden". Our annual fundraiser gala will be held on Saturday, February 18th, 2012:

  • Cocktails reception begins at 6 PM
  • Dinner served at 8 PM
  • Coronation of our King and Queen begins at 10PM followed by dancing until 1AM
  • Silent Auction begins at 6 and ends promptly at 9:45
  • Our Master of Ceremonies is Craig Amundsen
  • Entertainment provided by
  • Terry Hanson Ensemble Dance
  • Music by Johnny O

2012 Mardi Gras Menu

Classic Wedge Salad topped with dried cherries, tomatoes, red onion and crumbled goat cheese -balsamic Vinaigrette and bleu cheese dressing will be offered before all entrees.

“Impressionist’s Palette”
Petit filet mignon accompanied by pan seared chicken breasts, with a sun dried tomato béchamel roasted fingerling parmesan potatoes & lemon grilled asparagus.

“Giverny Garden”
Pasta marinara stacked with portabella, eggplant, sautéed Swiss chard on a field of vegetables garnished with shaved parmesan and white truffle oil.

“Crème de la Crème”
White chocolate mousse filled cream puff pastry with a duo of chocolate and raspberry sauces & beautifully finished with a strawberry fan and a brushstroke of raspberry sauce.
